I-2 Non-Ferrous MIG SAnd dune - high Strength/ductility SAND DUNE is specially formulated alloy designed to provide high strength yet ductile welds on low alloy steels, high strength steels such as T-1, HY-80/90 and many others used in heavy duty equipment. Proprietary alloys such as T-1 type A&B, Majari R, Cor-Ten, manganese and vanadium, can be welded with excellent results. Deposits are tough, yet machinable making this alloy the preferred alloy for build-ups requiring machining. Often used as a build-up prior to applying harder overlays. technicAl dAtA Tensile Strength 120,000 psi Yeild Strength 96,000 psi Elongation 23% Dia. This alloy is excellent for welding stainless steels such as 302, 304, 304L, 308, 316, 316L. Excellent for welding tanks, vats, pipe, fittings, sheet metal, castings, and building up worn, corroded parts. This alloy has many uses in all industries that use stainless steel such as chemical plants, paper mills, food, dairy, distillery, transportation, trucking and hospitals. The extra low carbon content prevents carbides from forming at the grain boundaries and thereby retards intergranular corrosion. *Needs no shielding gas, It’s self contained in the flux core Dia. The current-carrying capacity is lower than the alloyed electrodes. This electrode provides good stability when used with AC current either balanced wave or continuously high frequency stabilized. They maintain a clean, balled end, which is preferred for aluminum and magnesium welding. 2% thoriAted These electrodes contain thorium oxide, referred to as thoria. The thoria increases the usable life of these electrodes over the EWP type because of the higher electron emission, better arc starting and arc stability. These electrodes provide greater resistance to tungsten contamination of the weld. Designed for DC current and maintains a sharpened point well, which is desirable for welding steels. lAnthAnAted These electrodes feature ease of starting and improved arc stability, Lower evaporation rate reduces burn-off Dia.
